LittleBigPlanet 2 - Media Molecule

LittleBigPlanet 2, the sequel to the original LittleBigPlanet game, grants a whole new adventure for Sackboy in a whole new world of turmoil and tumult. You can create virtually limitlessly with a striking plethora of new design tools, stickers and materials for you to stay as simplistic or as intricate as you jolly-well like.

The Overview

LittleBigPlanet 2 empowers users to create their own levels by utilizing a variety of developer tools as well as various games like top-down racing games, multiplayer shooters, flying side-scrollers, RPGs and more. The game begins with a unique story mode that provides a beautifully reshaped world for Sackboy to explore and play. Each story level is influenced by cultural high points in history.

Players can reset the controller buttons for any object and change the rules to any level through an ability called Direct Control and multiplayer abilities advance the types of games possible for a social/competitive experience. Users are able to link levels together to provide longer gameplay experiences without the breakup of going back to the Pod and can see what LittleBigPlanet 2 levels/games their friends are playing via activity steams.

Our Review

“If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”, said a plumber or something. Shut up, plumber. This is serious business. LittleBigPlanet had its fair share of bugs, sure, but it was never broke. Quite prosperous, actually. Years of additional content to the original LittleBigPlanet game sparked intentions for a sequel, and the year has come. This is the year. LittleBigPlanet 2.

The Platform

The PlayStation®3 is Sony Computer Entertainment's powerful last generation gaming console. It's more than just a gaming console, it's any creative game developer's paradise. With the combination of a turbo charged gaming community and powerful set of hardware features, the limits as to what the PlayStation®3 can pull off is not in comparison to those of other gaming consoles.

Say hello to Media Molecule

Media Molecule are the beloved founders and creators of the acclaimed LittleBigPlanet and Tearaway franchise. Their outstandingly and cleverly developed creative games have made their way to the top of my list of my favorite games to play and they always keep me coming back for more. Media Molecule is a British video game developer based in Guildford in Surrey. The admirable Molecules were founded on January 4th, 2006 by former Lionhead Studios employees. These employees such as Mark Healey, Alex Evans, Dave Smith, and Kareem Ettouney have made it possible for us to have fun and express our creativity with their games to this very day.
